As a community health clinic, Asian Health Services relies on the generosity of donors in order to provide comprehensive medical care to the underserved of Alameda County.   Established in 1974 to serve the medical needs of low-income, limited English speaking immigrants in the East Bay, it has since grown into a national model for community health care for indigent immigrants.  AHS is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.  All donations are tax-deductible to the extent of the law.  Your contribution can benefit the Community Care Fund, the Capital Reserve Fund, the Dental Health Services Fund or the Patient Advocacy FundCommemorative opportunities are available under the categories below.

Community Care Fund

The Community Care Fund helps cover the cost of lifeline medical care for the uninsured in Alameda County.  Nearly 50% of Asian Health Services' clients are uninsured and over 70% live under the poverty level.  With welfare reform cutting off legal Asian immigrants from Medi-Cal, Asian Health Services anticipates that the number of medically indigent Asians in Alameda County will grow to record levels.

Capital Reserve Fund

Through the generosity of its supporters, Asian Health Services raised $2.6 million for its Capital Campaign which enabled the organization to buy and renovate its own building.   The result is a new three-story clinic and administrative headquarters at 818 Webster Street.  The Capital Reserve Fund provides Asian Health Services with a safety net for future improvements and repairs to its new home.

Dental Health Services Fund

For many years, our patients asked us to open a dental clinic because they did not have access to dental care.  With the help of federal, state, county governments, companies and individual donors, we finally built a dental clinic.  The dental clinic has five adult dental chairs and two children's dental chairs and is conveniently located one block from Asian Health Services at the corner of 9th Street and Webster Street.  AHS will provide high quality dental care in the languages of our patients.  The Dental Health Services Fund helps support dental health services for indigent patients.

For more information, please call (510) 986-6830 or e-mail wchang@ahschc.org.

Patient Advocacy Fund

The Patient Advocacy Fund helps Asian Health Services promote immigrant and patient rights through counseling regarding programs and other social service needs.
