Asian Health Services' dental clinic turns one year old!

The dental clinic has now been open for one year! The clinic continues to be very busy, serving over 1,200 AHS patients so far. The first year ended with over 6,500 dental visits. We are staffed with four regular dental providers and one on-call dentist, who are assisted by six registered dental assistants and three patient service representatives.

Our AHS dental clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art digital radiology and electronic dental records. We provide full scope of primary oral health care, with a strong emphasis on prevention and education. Our providers are highly competent in providing services, ranging from preventative oral health counseling and prophylaxis to fillings, oral surgery, periodontal treatment (gum disease), dentures, some cosmetic dentistry, crowns and bridges.

The clinic is affiliated with the University of California San Francisco School of Dentistry and serves as an externship site for the school. Our dental providers are credentialed as professors of the UCSF dental school. We are also involved with the Alameda County Healthy Kids Healthy Teeth program, which serves children from 0-5 years of age. The dental clinic also participates in the Diabetes Collaborative, an initiative to promote better care for the diabetic patients.

AHS will provide high quality dental care in the languages of our patients. Our dental clinic staff speaks Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese and Chiuchow. We will have interpreters for patients who speak other languages. Our staff can speak Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Korean and Chiuchow. They are ready to assist you with any questions or concerns you may have regarding the dental services.

The dental clinic will be open only to registered Asian Health Service patients. If you are a registered AHS patient and would like to make an appointment, please call 510-986-6888.
